EDUCATION LAW
A school should be a safe environment with qualified teachers and competent administrators where students are able to learn and grow. However, when a school district fails you and your child by not delivering these essential things, you need an attorney who understands your child’s rights and the legal responsibilities of schools. Our attorneys can help your child receive the education they are entitled to and work to hold schools accountable for injuries caused to your child by school failures.
Attorney Tammy Meyer has extensive experience representing parents and students against school districts in both due process and tort claims. She has represented parents in a variety of claims against school districts including issues involving:
-
Failure to exercise an ordinary and reasonable standard of care for student safety
-
Failure to adequately supervise students
-
Negligent hiring, retention and supervision of school employees
-
Denial of a Free Appropriate Education under the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.
-
Violation of Article 7, Indiana’s special education law.
