James "Jimmy" Sedam is an attorney with Metzger Rosta, LLP, where he practices a wide variety of civil litigation. He is experienced in the areas of business litigation, insurance defense, premises liability, personal injury, contract disputes, civil rights, post-conviction relief, expungement, and employment law.
Jimmy earned his B.A with distinction from the University of Indianapolis, with a major in Political Science. He received his J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where he was named a Cale J. Holder scholar, J. Patrick & Eleanor Endsley Scholar, and the inaugural UINDY Law Scholar.
While in law school, he participated in Moot Court, where he was named to the Order of the Barristers and served as Associate Chief Justice of Problem Writing & CLE. Jimmy was also named to the Dean’s Tutorial Society for Legal Communication & Analysis and was one of two writing assistants to the entire law school. He also participated in the law school's Health & Human Rights Clinic and the Wrongful Conviction Clinic. In his final year of law school, Jimmy served as an extern on the Indiana Supreme Court to the Honorable Justice Geoffrey Slaughter.
Jimmy has extensive experience in successfully litigating cases and representing clients in both state and federal court at multiple jury and bench trials, through dispositive motions and complex brief writing, and in the context of alternative dispute resolution.
